The Equine Medical Center of Ocala is a new equine veterinary hospital in America’s horse capital, Marion County, which offers state of the art specialty care to horse owners throughout Central Florida. The hospital provides a wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, advanced reproductive technologies, internal medicine diagnostics, state-of-the-art imaging, around the clock intensive care as well as an after-hours emergency service.

The combined efforts of Drs. John Peloso, Corey Miller and Patrick Worden have rapidly grown the practice from two to thirteen veterinarians. The central theme behind the rapid expansion of their hospital is addressing the specialized needs of the equine patient. Florida’s 3 billion dollar equine industry varies from backyard pleasure horses, intensively trained show horses, unsullied breeding operations, to some of the fastest race horses in the country. With that in mind, the hospital has been staffed with veterinarians capable of providing care to each of the equine disciplines and their maladies, should they occur.

Within the practice, there is a clear division of veterinary responsibilities so that specific problems are directed to individuals specializing in the problem area. We believe that this personalized care has played a major role in our rapid and early success with clients in Marion County. Equine Medical Center of Ocala is the only hospital in Marion County providing clients with board-certified specialist in surgery, reproduction and internal medicine. In addition to our board certified specialists, our generalists have focused their profession to provide care for clients and patients with specific needs. This includes reproduction, sport horses, thoroughbred sales preparation, horses in race training, and the art of acupuncture and geriatric care.

Please visit and tour our new facility, and provide us with the opportunity to help you reach your goals. Whether it is evaluating and correcting lameness in a two-year-old thoroughbred, or getting one last foal out of your prized 18-year-old broodmare, you will appreciate the excellent care and service that will be provided both to you and your horses.
