Regional Perfusion for Infections of Joints and Bones
Regional perfusion is used to achieve high antibiotic levels in joints and bones in order to cure infections. Antibiotics are injected into a vein or into a bone near the infected structure, and a tourniquet is applied for a short time to isolate the antibiotics to this region.
