James Fukuda, DVM

Dr. Soichiro James Fukuda earned his DVM from The Kansas State University. He was born in the United States and raised in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan. There he grew up spending many weekends at the racetrack watching, and betting on, thoroughbred racing with his father.
After graduating from high school, he moved back to the US and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Virginia. He was also a member of the UVA equestrian team where he learned to appreciate the joy of riding. His veterinary interests include ambulatory medicine and surgery, lameness, and reproduction. James enjoys playing basketball, golf, dancing, cooking out and watching sports with friends - Go ‘Hoos!
